In tomorrow’s issue on Tuesday, June 7th, Il Sole 24 Ore, the most important Italian economic-political-financial newspaper, on the occasion of the special LIGHTING PRODUCERS - Outstanding Realities, has chosen CENTURY to tell the story, through the words of its founder and CEO Claudio Loggia, of an outstanding company, from its origins to its ideas and projects for the future. An important recognition for CENTURY, the Italian reality leading LED lighting, born among the shelves of a hardware store and becoming a technological model combining design and efficiency. Below is a short excerpt from the article, to which a half-page of the national newspaper has been dedicated: “Thirty years have passed since I first held the prototype of a compact fluorescent bulb in my hands,” recounts Claudio Loggia, founder and CEO of Century Italia based in Latina, with a nostalgic voice. “At that time, energy-saving bulbs were huge, almost like bowling pins” - he continues - “it’s amusing when compared to today’s super compact and efficient LED bulbs!” It was the 1990s and the young entrepreneur was working in the family hardware store. “The real insight that lit up the bulb for me, recalls Claudio Loggia, was the vision of a high-potential market focused on sustainability and energy efficiency, of which only foreign multinationals held shares in Italy.
